Privacy Policy for Shopping List

Shopping List is a fast, offline, local-only shopping list app for iOS built by Gobek Labs Co., Ltd. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.

1. Overview

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Shopping List is designed from the ground up to collect no personal data and make no network requests. All lists, items, and settings you create are stored exclusively on your device and never transmitted to us or any third party. We do not sell, rent, or share your data.

2. Information We Collect

Shopping List does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. Specifically:

  • No analytics or usage tracking data is collected.
  • No crash reports or diagnostic data are sent to us.
  • No personal identifiers, device identifiers, or advertising IDs are accessed.
  • All shopping lists, items, and app settings are stored locally on your device only using the device's file system.

3. Local Data Storage

All data you enter into Shopping List — including list names, item names, settings, and recently deleted items — is saved in a JSON file in your app's private document directory on your device. This data:

  • Never leaves your device under any circumstances.
  • Is not backed up to any cloud service by the App itself (standard iOS device backups handled by Apple may include this file if you have iCloud or iTunes backup enabled).
  • Is permanently deleted if you use the in-app Master Reset feature or uninstall the App. We cannot recover this data for you.

4. How We Use Your Information

Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing to use beyond operating the App locally on your device. Specifically, we use locally-stored data only to:

  • Display your shopping lists and items within the App.
  • Persist your appearance preferences, settings, and recently deleted items across app launches.
  • Provide autocomplete suggestions based on your previously used item names — this processing happens entirely on your device.

5. Third-Party Services We Use

Shopping List does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only external interaction the App may initiate is:

  • Apple App Store Review — When you tap 'Rate the App,' the App invokes Apple's native in-app review prompt (via expo-store-review). This interaction is governed by Apple's own privacy policy and may open the App Store. No data is shared with us as a result of this action.

6. Data Security

Because all data remains on your device and is never transmitted, the primary security boundary is your device itself. We recommend using a device passcode or biometric lock to protect your data. The App stores data in the app's private document directory, which is not accessible to other apps on a non-jailbroken device.

7. Your Rights and Data Control

You have full control over your data at all times:

  • You can view all your data directly within the App.
  • You can delete individual items, lists, or all data at any time using the in-app Master Reset feature.
  • You can uninstall the App to permanently remove all locally stored data from your device.
  • No account deletion request is needed because we hold no personal data on our servers.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

All data is stored on your device for as long as the App is installed and you have not deleted it. Deleted items are retained in the 'Recently Deleted' section for 30 days, after which they are automatically purged from local storage. Because we hold no data on external servers, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns, please note that the App collects no personal information whatsoever.

10. International Data Transfers

Because Shopping List does not transmit any user data to external servers, no international data transfers of your personal information occur through our App. Any data transfers that occur (e.g., via Apple's standard device backup) are governed by Apple's privacy policies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, providing notice within the App.
