1. Overview

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Currency Converter is designed to work with minimal data handling — it does not collect personal information, does not require an account, and does not contain advertising or analytics SDKs. The only network activity is fetching publicly available exchange rate data from a third-party provider.

2. Information We Collect

Currency Converter collects no personal information. The following limited data is handled by the App:

• Exchange rate data fetched from open.er-api.com — no personal data is included in these requests; only the API endpoint is called to retrieve current rates.
• A local conversion count stored on your device (using on-device SQLite storage) to determine when to prompt you for an App Store or Play Store review. This count never leaves your device.
• A local flag stored on your device indicating whether a review prompt has already been shown, so you are not asked more than once.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

• Fetch and display current currency exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API.
• Count completed conversions locally on your device to decide when to invite you to rate the App in the App Store or Google Play.
• Operate and maintain the App and its core conversion features.

4. Third-Party Services We Use

The App communicates with the following external service:

• ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com) — provides publicly available exchange rate data. No personal information is transmitted in these requests. See https://www.exchangerate-api.com/legal/privacy-policy for their privacy policy.
• Apple App Store / Google Play Store — the native OS review dialog may be shown after several conversions. This is handled entirely by Apple's or Google's own systems; we do not receive or store any information about your response.

5. Data Security

All network requests to ExchangeRate-API are made over HTTPS. Data stored on your device (conversion count, review prompt flag) is kept in local on-device storage and is not transmitted to our servers. We implement reasonable measures to protect the App and its limited local data.

6. Your Rights and Data Control

You have the right to:

• Delete locally stored data by uninstalling the App from your device.
• Prevent the App from fetching exchange rates by disabling network access for the App in your device settings (note: conversion will not function without rate data).
• Contact us with any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Currency Converter stores only two small values on your device (conversion count and review-prompt flag) and fetches exchange rates ephemerally in memory for the current session. No data is retained on our servers. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data. For any further deletion requests, please contact us.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

Exchange rate requests are sent to ExchangeRate-API servers, which may be located outside your country. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place and rely on HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, providing notice within the App.
