We are committed to protecting your privacy. We only collect a limited set of information that helps us deliver accurate air quality data for your location. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising purposes.

• Device location (GPS coordinates) — collected when the app is in use to identify the nearest air quality monitoring station and display localized AQI readings.

3. Location Access

เช็คฝุ่น requests access to your device location while the app is in use ("When In Use" permission on iOS; coarse and fine location on Android). Your coordinates are used solely to query the nearest air quality monitoring station. Coordinates are transmitted over an encrypted connection to our proxy API and are not stored or logged beyond the duration of the request. You may revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; the app will fall back to a default station if location is unavailable.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

• Display real-time PM 2.5 and AQI readings for air quality monitoring stations near your location.
• Generate daily AQI forecasts and pollutant breakdowns relevant to your area.
• Operate and maintain the App and its features.
• Provide customer support and respond to user inquiries.

5. Third-Party Services We Use

We may share limited data with trusted service providers:

• AQICN (World Air Quality Index) — our backend proxy forwards your approximate GPS coordinates to the AQICN data service to retrieve the nearest station's air quality data. No personally identifiable information is included. AQICN privacy policy: https://aqicn.org/privacy/

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect collected information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) for all API requests between the App and our backend, and limited access to server infrastructure on a need-to-know basis.

7. Your Rights and Data Control

You have the right to:

• Revoke location permission at any time via your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services; Android: Settings → Apps → เช็คฝุ่น → Permissions).
• Request information about data associated with your use of the App (where applicable).
• Contact us to request deletion of any data associated with your device (where feasible).

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Location coordinates passed through our proxy API are not persistently stored and are discarded immediately after the air quality response is returned. We retain aggregated, non-identifiable operational logs only as long as necessary to maintain service reliability. For deletion requests, please contact us.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it.

10. International Data Transfers

Your location data may be transmitted to and processed on servers located outside your country (including servers operated by AQICN). We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, providing notice within the App.
